DeKalb County Museums
Visit Nine Museums Featuring Automobiles, Trucks, Aircraft, Military Collections, Railroads and County History. American Heritage Village is home to two museums, The National Military History Center featuring vehicles and uniforms, and the Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum displaying classic cars, race cars and carriages. For you aircraft enthusiasts, the Hoosier Air Museum showcases historical aircraft, both military and civilian, plus all types of aviation memorabilia. If your interest is railroading, visit the Garrett Historical Railroad Museum with it's restored B&O freight house, featuring displays dating back to the early 1800's. The Focus of the DeKalb County History Museum is its exhibits of pre-historic artifacts, early schools and libraries, urban and rural home life. Some museums have limited or seasonal hours, contact the Visitors Bureau for information.

A National Historic Landmark This automotive mecca exhibits over 120 cars ranging from 1894 to 1999 and automotive displays on three floors. The museum has the greatest and most extensive collection of Auburn Cord and Duesenberg automobile in the world. Experience the passion from this great era as you step back through time. Walk the same hallways as the automotive giants of yesterday, and you get the impression of what a day at the Auburn Automobile Company must have been like in the early 1930’s.
